Seeds of dream – GIRL NEXT DOOR

Tracks:

1. Seeds of dream

2. Reason for tears

3. Guuzen no Kakuritsu (Oh My Gold Mix)

4. ESCAPE (ice cream mix)

GIRL NEXT DOOR’s Seeds of dream was released on April 15th, 2009. It’s their 4th single and it charted at #3 on the Oricon Weekly Charts, selling 25,269 copies.

Or as a certain friend likes to call it: Seeds of dleam. Anyways, Seeds of dream, for me, isn’t really anything new from the avex aniversary group. It still features a lot of their usual style (which is the 80s retro synth, but with a modern electronic twist.) Again, Chisa sounds really nice and really makes the song sound… well… good. The only gripe I have with this song is the annoying and really loud thumping bass beat that is during the WHOLE song. Tone it down a bit, next time, plz.

Reason for tears sounds pretty much like a slower, darker version of the A-side. But without that annoying and loud thumping beat. I guess in terms of melody, you could compare it to Jounetsu no Daishou, without the piano and the ~pretty~ elements of the song.

This single features an Oh My Gold Mix of their debut single, Guuzen no Kakuritsu. The major thing I noticed right away was the constant use of piano. Instant love. ♥ This is probably their best remix so far, because I thought it was a really catchy take on it. It turns the song into a bouncy, and beepy tune.

The ice cream mix (ugh…) of ESCAPE is far too long. This song also uses a lot of piano, but it has that same sampled beat from Seeds of dream. I would’ve liked this remix if it wasn’t so long, tbh, probably because ESCAPE is my favourite GND song. And mainly because the ice cream mix’s are usually bad, but this one is a step up.
