Namie Amuro’s WILD / Dr. was released on March 18th, 2009. It’s her 33rd single.
Let’s get WILD! I was wondering what Namie Amuro’s return would sound like. Many thoughts went through my head, and I just ended up forgetting about it. Once I heard she had single coming out, I was like “OMGOMGOMG” and my expectations were exceeded tenfold. WILD is an explosive dance track with blaring synth and thumping beats that really get your heart pumping. Thought it doesn’t have much variety (mainly just a few verses and choruses that sound the same,) this song it HOT HOT HOT (especially the “legs, arms, short sleeves, fingers, toes, hips and belly “part. ;D) and I couldn’t have thought a better way for Amuro to come back, sounding better than ever. I HIGHLY recommend this track.
The other A-side, however, has MUCH more variety. Dr. starts out sounding very futuristic, having random synth noises and beeps throughout the beginning. Then a quick change of pace, and it turns into a BLARING brass section (WTF?) ”DR. PLEASE SAVE US!” and then it turns into a softer, more reserved side. I applaud Amuro for adjusting to the abrupt style and pace changes. Dr. proves to be an equally amazing A-side.
Overall Grade:

I was thinking she might have retired but “WILD” absolutely reconfirms Namie Amuro as THE absolute Queen of JPop!
Her freestyle dancing in the Coca-Cola ZERO ad was amazing too.
