SNOW FLAKE ~Kioku no Koshitsu~ / PULSE – FLOW

Tracks:

1. SNOW FLAKE ~Kioku no Koshitsu~

2. PULSE

3. Phantom

FLOW’s SNOW FLAKE ~Kioku no Koshitsu~ / PULSE was released on December 10th, 2008. It’s their 22nd single.

Our final single of the #5 era is upon us! Our first A-side is SNOW FLAKE ~Kioku no Koshitsu~. I didn’t think this song was as good as the previous A-sides but it’s pretty good. I like that this time it’s more melodious and includes even prettier strings and a lot less electric guitar, instead having a more prominent use of acoustic guitar and strings. Both singers of the band sound really nice seperately, but they kinda sound weird when they harmonize during the chorus. This is a really nice winter song.

The second A-side is pretty average. PULSE is an okay progressive rock track. But I think the opening aggressive guitar doesn’t really fit with the song, since it sounds a lot like the previous B-sides. The vocals aren’t as good as the first A-side either. This song might grow on me, but right now it’s just “okay”.

Phantom is a pretty cool song. It kinda has a more futuristic feel to it and includes short bursts of electric guitar during the vocals. The vocals in this song aren’t amazing as well, but they’re passable. Luckily this is the last single before the album, and probably the worst of the era.
