Drive away / Shiawase no Jouken – GIRL NEXT DOOR

Tracks:

1. Drive away

2. Shiawase no Jouken

3. Drive away (maximizor mix)

4. Drive away (ice cream mix)

GIRL NEXT DOOR’s Drive away / Shiawase no Jouken was released on October 8th, 2008. It’s their 2nd single and debuted at #3 on the Oricon Weekly Charts, selling 21,081 copies in its first week.

GIRL NEXT DOOR delivers another highly infectious track, entitled Drive away. This one doesn’t really sound any different as Guuzen no Kakuritsu, but it’s still good and executed well. A combination of synth and electric guitar make for a great track to get you moving. Chisa’s vocals sound good as well. Otherwise, it’s pretty much like their debut single, so nothng really new to report.

Shiawase no Jouken, on the other hand, is also like those two, but a lot more upbeat. I kinda like it more because the fact that it is. x: But otherwise, it follows the same style as the others, but this one has a cool guitar solo. ;D

I actually liked the maximizor mix of Drive away because it takes away all the rock elements and pumps up the bass and adds a lot more synth. Chisa’s voice is also kind of layered, but not under a vocoder.

The ice cream mix of Drive away is an ACTUAL remix. Meaning it distorts the song a lot, and puts everything out of place. It makes it into an almost full blown trance song, but the upbeat piano kinda ruins that. I like this remix too but not as much as the other one.
