Leah Dizon’s Communication!!! was released on August 20th, 2008. It’s her 2nd album and charted at #16 on the Oricon Weekly Charts, selling 8,620 copies in its first week.
The album’s main promotional track is Step into my world. I thought this song was really cute. it follows the bubblegum pop sound, with a thumping beat and some piano. Leah’s singing has improved so much since she debuted and this song shows that. I really like the music, just because her last super poppish songs were suckish. Nice way to start out the album.
Without a good-bye follows an acoustic ballad sound. The music is a combination of acoustic guitar, a little electric guitar, some piano, and drums. I REALLY like the music, but Leah’s voice wasn’t doing it for me. She sounds really strained and choppy, for most of it. The second verse it starts to sound better, but still.
Following a similar style as Love Paradox is Nothin’ to Lose. I really liked Love Paradox so I really liked this song. For those of you who haven’t heard it, it’s kind of a western R&B sound, with loud thumping bass, and clapping beats. Leah sounds great and executes every word perfectly. This song is completely in English with the exception of a little Japanese, so I was able to understand the lyrics. xD I really like the lyrics, “I wanna have my chips and play ‘em too.” She uses poker terms and the like to associate it with love. My favourite track off the album. On a side note, I read that she wrote/co-wrote eleven of the twelve tracks on the album, which I thought was neat.
Enter in with another ballad, Lost at Sea. This one is a lot similar as the previous one, but I thought it was a lot better. Her voice sounds a lot better for most of it, except for the chorus it sounds strained, and some parts it sounds like she’s drowned out by the music. I feel that she can really pull these songs off, if she just focuses on her vocals. This song is almost in all English as well.
Another aggressive R&B track. The title track Communication!!! reminds me a lot of Love Paradox, more than Nothin’ to Lose. I thought this song was pretty decent, some parts she sounded weird. I really like the chorus “just a touch is never enough, never enough, never enough.”
Not Too Bad is a slower R&B song that gets a little slower at times. Leah sounds awesome though, and I’m glad for that. But the chorus is really repetitive and is played a lot.
A full blown rock track, which shocked me is the oddly titled BxKxRxxx. I was flat out bored with the beginning, because it didn’t really have a beat, just electric guitar and this weird synth sound. But when the chorus arrives, it explodes in this awesome rock sound. I really like the part where she sings really fast because she didn’t slip up at all. The rest of the song is the same, but with more guitar and drums.
Ending the album on a happy noteis Thank you. this song is a laid back R&B tune, with a lot of back up vocals. I thought this was a perfect song to end the album withbecause it just has a nice message. “Oh, happy days for you and me. From the bottom of my heart.”
Leah’s sophomore is probably better than her last. Every track on the album is a new sound, and it’s nice to hear her experimenting. However, being a somewhat new artists, she has a lot of flaws. Such as, her voicevoicevoice. A lot of the time she sounds muffled, dead, choppy, or strained. She really needs to improve in that area. Otherwise, I really think she has a lot of potential. Keep on going, Leah!
Overall Grade:

I pretty much agree with you. I’m glad that Leah is branching out a little bit with the R&B and rock tracks, but her voice still needs some work. You’re right though, she has the potential and this album was a step up from Destiny Line.
Random: Not Too Bad totally reminds me of a Mariah Carey song. XD

Leah dizon sounds like she has the flu all the time. It’s really hard for me to listen to her because there’s always a nagging feeling that she’s not gonna hit that next note and she’ll ruin the song and such.
Which is a waste, considering how cute she is. D:

A lot of Leah’s songs are poorly mixed I’ve noticed. They sound really cheap and unfinished.
I had *cough*d/l*cough* this album earlier and from your positive review I’ll definitely check it out.
