ayaka’s Jewelry day was released on July 4th, 2007. It’s her 5th single and debuted at #2 on the Oricon Weekly Charts, selling 38,635 copies in its first week. The title track was used as the ending theme for the movie Last Love.
Despite what other people say about the wonderful Jewelry day, I still love it. I mean sure it doesn’t steal your attention right when it starts, but it’s still such a pretty song. I love the calming acoustic guitar throughout the song and the quiet strings that come in later. ayaka’s voice is at its best and she gives it her all.
I like the contrast between the two songs. I’m alone is more upbeat, while still having a melancholy sound to it, definately during the chorus. I like the acoustic sound it has.
And I love the acoustic version of Start to 0 (Love). ayaka sounds great unplugged and I was really impressed by her performance. I like the chorus with the clapping, and just the way her voice sounds. One of the best acoustic version I’ve heard.
Overall Grade:

Jewelry day is an awesome song! But somehow, it gets really bland after a while. (read: 50 odd plays)
Is it just me? D:
