Aira Mitsuki’s Colorful Tokyo Sounds NO.9 was released on August 8th, 2007. It’s her debut single and the title track was used as the the official song for the Transformer Cafe.
Oh my lord. It’s Perfume on crack! Colorful Tokyo Sounds NO.9 sure is one hell of a trip, but it’s SO. FAWKING. AMAZING. Even though when she sings in English it sounds like she has a lisp. x: ANYWAY. If you like Perfume, you’ll LOVE this. I really enjoy the beepy, yet loopy synth. You can’t forget the beat too. Her voice with a vocoder sounds so good, a lot better than some artists… like MEG! =D (even though I like her, but that’s not what I mean.) She’s definately someone to keep an eye on, guys.
Wow! The thing I looove about Candy Light Mode is the constant guitar you hear. It lacks a lot of synth that we heard in the previous track. It’s terribly cute, especially when she says “candy li-ight mo-o-do,” but I don’t get why she says Marie Atoinette, but I guess if we looked up the lyrics we’d know. And you can’t forget the beat!
Okay so there are 3 remixes. I’m not going to review them all ’cause I’m lazy, but I WILL summarize them a little:
-
The LAVA’s Electrip Remix has a weird house sound to it, like something capsule would do. I also noticed that it took out a lot of the vocoder and you could hear what her real voice sounded like… a little choppy but eh, I can deal.
- The Disco-Punk Remix is awesome. It’s really aggressive sounding and it’s just really cool. It sounds like something you’d listen to at a rave! O: It removes a lot of her vocals and only has it sayinh “tokyo sounds no.9.” A lot better than the previous remix.
- The MP-3 Senyou Digital Mastering Version doesn’t sound any different than the original. No it’s not an instrumental. I guess it sounds a little more refined, removing a lot of the fuzzy sounds, but that could be my ears.

oOo an A huh? I actually just d/l’d this single like 10 minutes ago ’cause I kept seeing her everywhere.
Plus, she does electro stuff, so it’s total win already. XD
