Ayumi Hamasaki’s Mirrorcle World was released on April 8th, 2008. It’s her 43rd single and was released in 6 versions, all including anniversary editions of YOU and Depend on you.
As most of you may know Mirrorcle World is an extended version of Mirror. (Track #1 on her last album GUILTY.) But instead straight-to-dial-up sound, it begins with soothing violin, but that only lasts for about 30 seconds, because in comes the dial-up. For the most part the song is the same, but with added chorus, bridges, and other instrumental parts. I’m so glad she made a full version, because the original just wasn’t enough. I absolutely love her hard-rock comeback and I can’t wait to see what else she has in store for us.
Sticking to the rock theme but adding more of a ballad sound into it, is Life. I felt it was a bit lacking. I mean sure it’s a great song and all, but it ended too short. It could’ve been a lot more extravagent. But oh well. Ayu’s voice is wonderful and the song itself is nice too.
An added treat is the 10th Anniversary version of YOU. This ia wonderful remake of the song. It sounds a lot better since her voice has become more refined. Wow, can you believe it’s been almost 10 years since Ayu first debuted? Now look at her. Ayu, you will forever be the queen of J-pop.
Also, the 10th Anniversary version of the wonderful Depend on you. I adore this version so much more than the original, because it sounds more rockish and Ayu’s vocals are absolutely phenominal.
